Good and Ready :
Disaster & Emergency
Preparedness Workshops
Co-hosted by Lakes Multicultural Collective, NZ Red Cross, and QLDC Welcoming Communities
Emergencies can happen anytime…
… Earthquakes, floods, storms, or prolonged power outages. Being prepared means you and your loved ones can respond quickly, confidently, and safely when it matters most.
Our Good and Ready workshops are free, practical, and interactive — designed especially for the diverse communities in the Queenstown Lakes region. You’ll leave with the knowledge, skills, and resources to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
These sessions are delivered by NZ Red Cross and supported by QLDC Welcoming Communities. No prior experience or knowledge is needed — just come along, bring your questions, and learn in a friendly, supportive environment.

Curious About “WHY”
We’re Doing This?
At Lakes Multicultural Collective, our mission is to support newcomers, migrants, ethnic, and Pacific communities in not just living here—but truly thriving in the Queenstown Lakes District.
As part of our Settlement Services Plan, we offer a series of Integration Services and Workshops designed to equip our diverse community with practical tools, local know-how, and meaningful connections. These resources are about building confidence, not just surviving—but flourishing.
Emergencies don’t wait for us to feel settled. That’s why these Good and Ready Disaster & Emergency Preparedness Workshops are so important. Presented in partnership with NZ Red Cross and QLDC Welcoming Communities, these free, interactive sessions are all about giving our communities the knowledge and confidence to prepare for, respond to, and recover from unexpected crises.
Through this work, we are:
Ensuring access to vital, culturally safe preparedness information.
Building resilience across households and our broader community.
Making sure all voices are included in our collective safety and wellbeing.
Fostering strong networks of support—because when we’re prepared, we care for one another better.
