Welcome to Global Groove — a cultural dance mini-series brought to life by Lakes Multicultural Collective in collaboration with Mana Tahuna.
From July to November, we’re inviting you to join us on a joyful journey through movement. Each month, we’ll explore a different style of dance from around the world — taught by passionate local instructors, and designed especially for absolute beginners. These free, community-based classes are all about connection, curiosity, and having a go.
On Tuesday 28 October, our community dance series continues with Peruvian Toada.
Join us for the final session in our Global Groove Mini-Series — Toada, a lively traditional dance from the Peruvian Amazon led by Melissa from the Peruvian community. 🇵🇪💃
The Toada is a celebration of life and nature, blending flowing movements inspired by rivers and forests with the vibrant, festive energy of the Amazonian people. It’s joyful, rhythmic, and deeply connected to the natural world — a dance that expresses gratitude, togetherness, and the spirit of celebration. 🌊🌿
This session is open to everyone — no dance experience needed! Come along to learn, move, and connect through the rhythm of the Amazon.
